Denver Dispensary Heists Are on the Rise

Denver Dispensary Heists Are on the Rise

Thieves in Denver are getting bolder by the day. No longer are they satisfied with knocking off a liquor store for a few quick bucks. Instead, these days the criminal culture in and around Denver is setting its sights a bit higher. Thieves are now targeting the numerous dispensaries within the city, reselling the marijuana and like products on the black market for a bigger pay day.

Michael Jerome of Blue Line Protection Group, a private marijuana security, transportation and compliance firm in Lakewood, says six clients have been robbed to various degrees over the past two months.

Marijuana Price Index: May 2015

Marijuana Price Index: May 2015

The month of May saw a lot of inconsistencies, as 'Top Shelf' was the only grade that was able to weather the storm, and both 'Mid-grade' and 'Schwag' fell well below the previous month’s average. 'Mid-grade' experienced the biggest drop (-$12) and closed out the month a full $6 below the year-to-date average.

Kudos to Arkansas, Maryland, New Jersey, and New York, who all tied for the top honors spot of most expensive marijuana in the U.S. category. Bringing up the rear once again is Oregon and Washington State, respectively.

Santa Ana Police Raid Dispensary, Edible Stash...

The Santa Ana Police Department has gone viral — but unfortunately for them, this video does not shine a kind light on several of their employees.

A video is making the rounds that shows the Santa Ana Police Department conducting a raid on an unlicensed dispensary. SWAT gear and guns drawn, police enter the building, forcing patrons to hit the ground. Raids like these are not uncommon, especially in Southern California where an all out war is being raged against a simply endless list of unlicensed and unwanted pot shops.

Enormous New Water Fines for Marijuana Farmers in California

Enormous New Water Fines for Marijuana Farmers in California

Guns and badges on cannabis farms are increasingly being replaced with pens and clipboards, as regulations take over where prohibition failed.

Today, the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board announced a notably huge fine for water quality violations against a property owner in rural California.

Christopher Cordes and contractor Eddie Axner Construction, Inc., face $297,400 in liability for large-scale grading causing actual and potential harm to surface waters in the Ono area of Shasta County. The reason for that grading? Growing cannabis.

Hayward Police Bust Historic-Sized Grow, Find Over 13,000 Plants

The Hayward Police Department is giving itself a big pat on the back after making a historic bust.

Last week after a lengthy investigation, Hayward police initiated a raid on a large warehouse in the city's industrial district. When the smoke cleared, police had arrested three men and located thousands of marijuana plants with an estimated street value of over $15 million, in what detectives are calling the largest marijuana grow in the history of the Hayward Police Department.
