Yesterday, the Colorado Marijuana Enforcement Division reports that over 100 offers were received by entrepreneurs seeking to set up new recreational marijuana businesses in the state. Currently, only the owners of existing medical marijuana dispensaries are allowed to apply. Twenty-three applications were accepted by the Division, and 99 additional appointments were scheduled. This number is expected to grow in July, when marijuana entrepreneurs new to the industry will have the opportunity to begin submitting applications.  An approval or denial will be received by each of the applicants by January 1st - the date when new recreational businesses will finally be allowed to flourish in Colorado.
