White Rhino Strain Review

White Rhino Strain Review

Name: White Rhino

Type: Hybrid (indica dominant)

Genetics: White Widow x Unknown Indica

White Rhino is a strong, fast-growing, near pure indica (90% indica, 10% sativa) with ancestry in the same lineage as her more famous sister White WidowAs the name suggests, this strain is tough and sturdy with a thick skin for both high and low temperatures. White Rhino delivers a knockout, medicinal-grade indica stone. Although classified as a hybrid, it is definitely indica dominant in its effects and will affect your entire body accordingly, consistently clocking in at over 20% THC (I've seen it as high as 25% THC).

White Rhino is a cross between White Widow and an unknown indica strain from somewhere in North America. This unknown indica gives the strain its potency and indica dominance. Always the bridesmaid but never the bride, White Rhino has won many second place awards, however it is known to be a first class strain for producing massive yields. The strain gets its name from the look of the top part of the plant that resembles the horn of a rhinoceros.

Looks and Smell

Although much like its cousin White Widow, the White Rhino strain is denser and shorter than White Widow with higher THC levels. White Rhino has a typical short, squat stature with short, thick branches and extremely compact internodes. The strain is a good choice for indoor gardeners with space limitations or indoor growers looking for a shorter plant. Even plants with no root limitations will grow no larger than 6 feet tall. The leaves of White Rhino are huge, full, and midnight green, and the stalks are very, very thick, adding to the resilience of the plant. The calyxes are small, round and super dense, forming rock hard horn-shaped colas. The smell was quite Kush-like, with a very fresh earthy smell with hints of some kind of berry I can't quite place. When I broke it up, the fresh berry smell came more to the forefront. The overall smell was absolutely delicious!

The Smoke

White Rhino creates a dense, sweet-tasting smoke that will expand in your lungs, making hits of this medicine much larger than you might first expect. Extremely potent, this strain will put you in a daze and make your entire body feel numbingly high. Moderate users may experience couch-lock, making it a perfect strain for pain management as well as relaxing on lazy nights. This is a creeper strain, so wait a bit before smoking any more, as it takes a few minutes for this strain to take full effect. White Rhino has a sweet, distinct Kush aftertaste on the exhale, which is sure to make this strain a favorite for any Kush or OG lover. Probably not the most aesthetically pleasing strain, but what I got my hands on was well manicured, well trimmed, and produced one of the strongest smelling odors of any strain I've come across in a while—especially once the buds were ground up. The high lasts about two hours and tends to gradually fade out, with no heavy comedown.

4/5 Nugs

This distinctive strain gets its name from the rhinoceros horn-like shape of the upper plant and its bright white hue. This is a strong indica-dominant hybrid with a very hardy ability to grow in nearly any condition the temperate zones can throw at it. It grows well indoors as well as out and is most often grown in green houses for medicinal use due to its very high THC levels and many uses. The strain is closely related to White Widow with a bit more bang for your buck. The buzz is deep, long lasting, and very full-throttle. White Rhino is most often prescribed for chronic pain, insomnia, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and even Hepatitis C, just to name a few. Low tolerance or beginning smokers should probably stay away from this strain ’til bedtime, but experienced users should have no problem handling this strain any time, day or night.
