New Rolling Papers Warn Drivers Not to Smoke and Drive

While most Drug Warriors would use vehicle accidents as a major reason for prohibition, one safety advocacy group is looking for a joint effort with marijuana smokers.

new campaign launched last week by drugged driving safety group We Save Lives provided thousands of Colorado stoners with rolling papers that animate a tiny car crash when rolled, while also bearing the warning, “Pot slows your reactions. Don’t smoke and drive.”

Two thousand packs of the rolling papers, titled Weed Advisor, were distributed throughout several outlets during World Cannabis Week in Denver, where they were generally greeted with a positive reception.

“I would treat with the same respect that we treat alcohol and just not do it,” said a bearded man wearing a hoodie that reads “RUN CBD” in a video produced by We Save Lives.

More packs of Weed Advisor papers are currently in production and will be sold online or through licensing.

“This idea allows us to take an active role in educating and leading marijuana smokers towards a more responsible attitude about driving, while maintaining a benign, open conversation with them that we disagree with the notion that people can consume marijuana and drive safely,” said Candace Lightner, president and founder of We Save Lives and the founder of Mothers Against Drunk Driving, in a statement.
