To absolutely no one's surprise, another NFL player has been caught with marijuana in his possession. Ahmad Bradshaw, a running back for the Indianapolis Colts, showed up in court this morning and proceeded to enter a ‘not guilty’ plea.
The charge stemmed from a February 5 incident, where the Ohio State Highway Patrol initiated a traffic stop on Bradshaw's Cadillac for following too closely to the vehicle in front of him. Officers soon discovered a small amount of marijuana on Bradshaw, and he was charged with one misdemeanor count of possession and was released at the scene. His passenger was not so lucky — he was charged with two counts of drug possession and was summarily arrested and taken to jail.
Bradshaw could have just paid a small fine and be done with the whole issue without making a court appearance, however he decided to fight the charge by entering a ‘not guilty’ plea. A pretrial hearing has been scheduled for February 25.
Last year Bradshaw, 28, had his season cut short due to a fractured fibula. Before the injury, he had 725 total yards and eight touchdowns in 10 games.
