One of California’s most stony regions, Santa Cruz county, held its own medical weed competition, announcing the winners Friday, Nov. 22. The Best OVERALL award for the Santa Cruz Cup 2013 went to Jabba's Stash by Kind Peoples Collective.

 

Purple Grape by Green Acres took the award for Best Santa Cruz Indoor Indica 2013.

 

Jack Sparrow by Anam Cara took Best Santa Cruz Indoor Sativa 2013.

 

Platinum Cookies by Kind Peoples Collective took Best Santa Cruz Outdoor Indica 2013.

 

Tropical Haze by Sean took Best Santa Cruz Outdoor Sativa 2013.

 

Somoa BAR by Medicinal Dreams took Best Santa Cruz Edible 2013.

 

Tangie Shatter by Elemental Seeds took Best Santa Cruz Concentrate 2013.

 

Honorable Mention for Most Potent Flower in the Santa Cruz Cup 2013 went to Girl Scout Cookies by C.H.A.I. 

 

And the Most Potent Concentrate in the Santa Cruz Cup 2013 proved to be Purple Cadillac Fluffy by Green Acres

 

Organizers handed out more than $1,000 in awards and bragging rights Nov. 22 at 216 Evergreen St, Santa Cruz, with live performances by: Coastal Sage, Echo Street, Ancestree, and Omani.

 

Judging was performed by “representatives elected from Medical Cannabis Collectives throughout the county. Judges spent at least a week with the their blind entries with points given for:  Appearance – Trim, Bouquet, Bag Appeal, & Cure; Aroma – Overall & Aromatic Bouquet; Effect – Overall, Indica v.s. Sativa Characteristics, & Duration; Smoke – Expansive & Burn; Flavor – Overall & Flavonoid Bouquet
