Which European Country Hosts the Most Cannabis Users?

About a quarter of Europeans age 15-64 have used marijuana at least once in their lives, making cannabis the most commonly used illicit drug in Europe. But what European country is home to the most weed users?

According to the annual report by the European Monitoring Center for Drugs and Drug addiction, France takes home the unofficial Cannabis Cup of Europe for most marijuana usage.

Here are the top 15 Europrean countries with the highest percentage of residents age 15-64 who have ever used cannabis:

1.     France – 40.9%

2.     Denmark – 35.6%

3.     Italy – 31.9%

4.     Spain – 30.4%

5.     United Kingdom – 29.2%

6.     Czech Republic – 28.7%

7.     Ireland – 25.3%

8.     The Netherlands – 24.1%

9.     Germany – 23.1%

10.   Norway – 21.9%

11.   Finland – 21.7%

12.   Poland – 16.2%

13.   Slovenia – 15.8%

14.   Croatia – 15.6%

15.   Belgium – 15%
