I have been to a few grand openings for dispensaries before, but I had never seen one quite like Essence. When I pulled up there was a line out the door, and I kept thinking, this is going to take FOREVER (the process for checking a patient in for the first time can be a little onerous here in Nevada). The public backlash that came with UFC fighter Nick Diaz’s five-year suspension and $165,000 fine testing positive for marijuana has actually paid off — at least a little.
